Analyst / Associate, Technical Assistance Management (m/f/d)

The vacancy can be filled in either of three above mentioned locations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of high quality technical assistance (TA) projects to the benefit of financial institutions (banks, leasing companies and microfinance institutions), sector and business support organisations, and other partners of the Green for Growth Fund – such as financial regulatory bodies and corporate institutions - covering the full project life-cycle:
    • Initiating and structuring TA projects in close collaboration with Investment Management including preparation of terms of reference (ToR). Our TA projects commonly focus on strategic capacity building for partner institutions around green finance and ESG / climate risk approaches, technical support for renewable energy and energy efficiency investments, as well as innovative research and analysis projects.
    • Selection and hiring of external service providers/consultants and coordination with local partners; working closely with local partners to help define their needs and identify innovative solutions.
    • Operational management & administration of TA projects in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures and the respective TA Facility Policy.
    • Ensuring quality control and results/impact monitoring of TA projects, external providers and consultants.
    • Delivering timely and accurate data management, as well as provision of project reports, including ad-hoc technical reports and progress updates vis-à-vis planned activities and expected outputs.
    • Steering the monitoring of and learning from TA projects and feed learnings into improved TA offerings.
  • Ensure proper management of allocated project budgets and accounting documentation.
  • Ensure coordination within relevant working groups and with external parties.
  • Day-to-day administration, accounting and reporting.

What we expect:

  • University degree, preferably in international development, finance, or environmental topics
  • Sufficient professional experience in the same or similar field, with an experience of working at a financial institution, or on sustainable finance topics preferred
  • Excellent project management, self-management and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage projects for results, translating strategic aims into achievable work plans
  • Knowledge of finance preferred, ideally with an emphasis on green or development finance
  • Ideally, experience in structuring and implementing TA or finance projects in the areas of Green  / Sustainable Finance, Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy and Resource Efficiency
  • Experience in data/knowledge management, financial reporting and budgeting
  • Excellent knowledge of English, both written and oral; business fluency in additional languages relevant for Finance in Motion´s operations is an advantage
  • Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills, also in multicultural contexts
  • Willingness to travel
