Analyst / Associate in Investment Management (m/f/d)

Key responsibilities:

  • Analyse market opportunities to strengthen impact in the domain of entrepreneurship and sustainable economies
  • Analysis of financial statements of potential and existing partner financial institutions and corporates, preparation of investment proposals, regular periodic updates, and management presentations
  • Support senior colleagues in all aspects of the investment process from initial eligibility screening, preliminary assessment, on- and off-site due diligence to investment proposal drafting and deal structuring
  • Liaise with partner institutions and play a key role in the periodic financial reporting cycle which includes securing, discussing, and recording financial statements, indicators, and rating reports
  • Continuous monitoring of assigned country portfolios, focusing on financial and agricultural sector trends, supervisory frameworks and policies, and the operating environment
  • Play an active and supporting role in tailoring and coordinating technical assistance projects
  • Support in business generation, pipeline development and deal origination

What we expect:

  • University degree in economics, finance, or business administration
  • Sufficient work experience in banking/financial sector, ideally with expertise in lending to financial institutions. Lending to corporates and/or agri-finance is considered an advantage
  • Interest in development finance, development economies, regions, and cultures
  • Self-starter with analytical and strategic mindset and attention to detail; sound analytical skills, affinity to numbers; well-organized when working under pressure across diverse tasks
  • Strong skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and French
  • Strong communication and intercultural skills as well as being a strong team player
  • Goal oriented, fully committed to deliverable of high-quality results under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to travel in the countries of FiM operations as necessary
