Associate - Technical Assistance (TA), Bogotá (m/f/d)


The Finance in Motion regional office in Bogotá/Colombia is currently looking for an Associate in Technical Assistance for the Development Facility of the eco.business Fund in Bogotá (m/f/d). The Development Facility aims to enhance the impact of the eco.business Fund by complementing its investment activities with technical assistance in the Latin America region with the following focus:
 
  • Supporting financial institutions in further developing their capacity to lend to sustainable business as a viable portfolio segment. It can also include helping financial institutions to better address the needs of the target group (e.g. through product development).
  • Supporting the target group, i.e. local businesses, in their adoption of more sustainable business practices (e.g. support in the adoption of a certification).
  • Sector technical assistance and studies, e.g. market research, awareness campaigns and sector workshops.
  • The Associate (m/f/d) will support the Development Facility activities of the eco.business Fund and will work supported by the Technical Assistance Senior Officer and other TA members.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and/or support project implementation by country or theme
  • Draft project proposals and quarterly reports
  • Draft terms of reference related to technical assistance projects
  • Participate in the presentation of proposals submitted to the Development Facility Committee
  • Support selection and hiring of external service providers/consultants
  • Review deliverables and final reports submitted by third party experts
  • Prepare documents, agendas and minutes of key internal and external meetings and committees
  • Identify, coordinate and attend events, workshops and trainings
  • Ensure quality control and impact monitoring of training and capacity building projects
  • Provide content and improvements on communication materials
  • Responsible for internal reporting systems and project-related accounting, and filing systems
  • Contribute to annual planning and execution of technical assistance plans
  • Engage in strategic discussions to support creating business opportunities for the Fund through TA activities
  • Become topic and/or country expert

What we expect:

  • University degree, preferably in economics, business administration, development finance, engineering in environment areas
  • Sufficient, relevant experience in this sector or a similar field
  • Good knowledge of development finance, including green finance, agricultural finance and/or ecosystems and rural/agricultural finance
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong skills on project management tools
  • Strong administration skills   
  • Ideally, experience in structuring and implementing capacity building projects for financial institutions and their clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish, other languages will be considered as an asset (German or Portuguese)
  • Strong writing skills
  • Data analysis and processing is a plus
  • Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote sensing basic knowledge is a plus
  • Willingness to travel
