Business Analyst Investment Management (m/f/d)

The Investment Management team (IM) deals with asset generation for the FiM-advised funds – EFSE, GGF, SANAD,, and LAGREEN  – and the implementation of technical assistance (TA) projects in the corresponding target markets. The IM team is responsible for market coverage, origination of investments and TA support, transaction structuring and execution, and ongoing financial and impact monitoring. The assets are channeled to further promote MSME finance, energy efficiency and renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and forestry projects, and are generating impact in accordance with the criteria prescribed by each fund. Mostly, assets are generated via the re-financing of qualified financial institutions, such as banks, MFIs, and non-banking institutions, with senior and subordinated loans. Increasingly, IM is also generating direct investments, such as equity investments, project finance, and direct corporate loans.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collect, analyze, and document detailed business requirements for investment management to contribute to strategic projects
  • Support a dialogue among different IM teams with the focus on defining business requirements
  • Liaise with the IT team on the operational level to verify and fine-tune functional requirements for the IM tools (including improvement and regular maintenance)
  • Proactively support the delivery and roll-out of new processes, tools, and software for investment management
  • Identify key inefficiencies and potential improvements of investment operations as inputs for continuous improvement of digitalization of our investment operations
  • Support in the development of user manuals, guidelines and other documentation required to support successful implementation and adoption
  • Support with the configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of IM tools, including identifying opportunities to leverage MS 365 automation platform

What we expect:

  • Sufficient relevant professional experience as a Business Analyst in the financial sector
  • Good understanding of investment processes (including credit, equity and/or project finance) ideally in an investment fund
  • Experience as team member in IT-related projects sponsored by business
  • Relevant experience in preparation of business requirements
  • Good understanding of Microsoft 365 platform and hands-on experience in process automation solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical writing in English
  • Ability to quickly grasp the company practices, processes and tools promoting operational efficiency for business team
  • Creative and pragmatic in finding solutions, self-motivating attitude
  • Demonstrable commitment to Finance in Motion´s vision/mission
