Compliance Officer – German Securities Trading Act (Wertpapierhandelsgesetz – WpHG) (m/f/d)

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all external and internal requirements in the area of WpHG compliance in accordance with MaComp are adhered to
  • Creation and regular updating of risk analysis and the associated risk profile
  • Execution of independent, on-site inspections on the basis of an individualized inspection plan derived from risk analysis as well as on the basis of ad hoc findings
  • Ensuring compliance with the risk-based audit and control plan
  • Conducting necessary training
  • Regular reporting to senior management
  • Independent communication with supervisory authorities on breaches/violations
  • Other compliance related responsibilities (as appropriate, as the role develops)

What we expect:

  • Well rounded, relevant professional experience in this field
  • Sound understanding of the relevant financial sector regulations (e.g. from the Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht – BaFin)
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets and related risks with main focus on Asset Manager Institutions
  • Degree in economics, business administration, finance, law or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
  • Strong analytical, writing and presentation skills enhanced by excellent intercultural skills and sensitivity
  • Goal oriented & fully committed to delivering high quality results under tight deadlines
