Finance Associate (Financial Institutions and Corporate Lending) (m/f/d)

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting all aspects of the investment cycle from identification of potential investees, conduct on-site due diligence, structuring investment proposal, to presenting to an investment committee, and monitoring of the outstanding portfolio
  • Coordinating with other departments in areas such as  environmental, social, and governance safeguards, finance, impact, legal, and risk functions as it relates to project structuring and closing of transactions
  • Participating and contributing to legal discussions with potential investees, from formulating and drafting initial terms and conditions to supporting the negotiation of complex legal agreements
  • Drafting of internal and external reporting regarding individual transactions and the investment portfolio
  • Take a leading role in the credit portfolio monitoring duties of the team
  • Manage Analysts to execute deliverables for the team and support the training and mentoring of junior professionals
  • Undertaking industry and market research on target markets in Latin America to support the business origination and execution efforts aligned with the investment strategy of Finance in Motion
  • Identifying technical assistance needs for potential investees or market participants, in coordination with the technical assistance team

What we expect:

  • Degree in economics, business administration, finance, or a related field (master's degree preferred)
  • Sufficient years of relevant work experience in corporate and/or lending to financial institutions, investment banking, and/or development finance. Experience in agribusiness transactions is a plus
  • Strong client relationship management skills
  • Strong financial modeling and financial analysis skills with a solid understanding of accounting standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (all responsibilities are conducted fully in English)
  • Strong presentation skills enhanced by intercultural sensitivities
  • Goal oriented, team player, and fully committed to delivering high quality results under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to travel
