Head of Compliance and Risk Management (m/f/d)

Finance in Motion is a BaFin licensed financial service provider and has a registered AIFM in Luxembourg. The Head of Compliance and Risk Management will be appointed as the Compliance Officer as defined by MaRisk and will be authorized to implement all necessary actions to ensure overall compliance with the regulatory and internal ruleset that the company has to adhere to. The Compliance Officer will also manage relationships with the 'internal customer' aiming to find compliance solutions to the business activity by setting up policies/procedures and controls. Key areas for the compliance function include AML, fraud prevention, MIFID requirements, data and information security. Additionally, operational risk assessment for all functions in the company is the key area of risk management responsibility. The compliance function will also actively support and moderate new product processes and monitor outsourcing. Finally, the compliance function will consolidate risk relevant reports from other teams and communicate on overall compliance and risk management to the senior management and the supervisory board.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of the legal inventory and relevant risk assessments
  • Managing a team of specialists covering the different areas in Compliance and Risk Management
  • Monitoring of regulatory changes and identification of measures to ensure compliance
  • Monitoring and reporting results of the internal control activities within the company and providing guidance to staff
  • Organization of the risk and compliance committee, follow-up on agreed actions
  • Propose organizational and procedural changes in order to assure adequate risk identification, assessment and mitigation where possible
  • Verify the effectiveness of organizational change (structures, processes, procedures) recommended for the prevention of compliance and operational risk
  • Managing issues related to conflicts of interests and insider information

What we expect:

  • Sufficient, relevant professional experience
  • Sound understanding of financial sector regulation as exercised by BaFin, ESMA, CSSF including good knowledge of relevant laws and regulations such as KWG, MaRisk, GWG, MIFID, BAIT, DSGVO
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets and related risks with main focus on Asset Managers Institutions
  • Degree in economics, business administration, finance, law or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
  • Strong analytical, writing and presentation skills enhanced by intercultural skills and sensitivities
  • Goal oriented, fully committed to delivering high quality results under tight deadlines
