IT Solutions Architect (m/f/d)

The IT Solutions Architect (m/f/d) should ensure that the best decisions are taken at Finance in Motion when it comes to the overall Software Design and IT Solutions Acquisition strategy.

The IT Solutions Architect (m/f/d) should
  • make sure that data sets and data flows are harmoniously managed within Finance in Motion, that the interfaces between systems are properly taken care of and that data inconsistencies are avoided,
  • make sure that software development and acquisition decisions follow a farsighted and coherent logic that is in line with FiM’s strategic aspirations of positioning as best-of-class impact funds manager.

The IT Solutions Architect (m/f/d) reports to the Head of IT.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Progressively assume ownership of FiM’s software solutions, their data structures and design patterns
  • Make sure that data flows and system interfaces are efficiently defined to avoid data inconsistencies and gaps
  • Introduce the most appropriate technologies and tools for system development and user experience
  • Improve the deployment strategy of FiM’s software solution to avoid downtimes and ensure resilience and high availability
  • Develop and maintain the technology development roadmap
  • Liaise and coordinate with the Software development department in Nairobi and with other third-party solution providers

What we expect:

  • University studies in computer science, engineering or other relevant disciplines
  • Sufficient, relevant work experience in a professional IT department
  • Solid experience in delivery of solutions in Cloud, preferably Azure.
  • Experience in migration from monolithic designs to microservices, containers orchestration and Kubernetes
  • Experience with database design and optimization concepts, preferably on MySQL
  • Experience in Continuous Development. Azure DevOps and Pipelines or Jenkins
  • Excellent written and spoken English and an open communication style
  • Analytical thinker with a structured and result-oriented approach to work
  • Demonstrable commitment to Finance in Motion´s vision/mission
