Intern Technical Assistance Management (m/f/d)

The Technical Assistance Management supports the missions of the Funds managed by Finance in Motion by designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating capacity building projects in favor of the partner institutions of the Funds and sector-level actors such as central banks, business support organizations and associations. The primary area of activity will be related to building capacities in the entrepreneurship ecosystem that contribute to employment and income generation. Projects under management also contribute to product development of the Fund and cover a diverse number of topical areas, such as for example credit analysis and risk management, business development, agricultural finance, financial technologies/digitization and responsible finance practices. 
 

Key responsibilities:

  • Support to project managers in conceptualizing and developing new project: proposals and terms of references, support to the identification and screening of experts and consultants
  • Close coordination with and support to investment management staff alongside project managers in the course of project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Research, analysis and provision of background information to specific topics in the area of development finance
  • Support in developing and updating reports, presentations and charts
  • Support in results monitoring, analysis and evaluation
  • Day to day administration tasks, including editing and formatting documents, updating databases, mailings and correspondence, documenting and filing, knowledge management


What we expect:

  • University degree, preferably in international development, economics, finance or related areas
  • Strong interest in microfinance, SME finance, financial sector development and entrepreneurship development topics
  • Interest in developing/transition economies, regions and cultures
  • An interest and/or experience in agricultural finance and/or financial technologies is advantageous
  • Strong written and spoken English skills
  • Sound analytical skills and the capability to approach issues and solve problems in a practical manner
  • Strong intercultural skills as well as being a strong team player
