Intern Technical Assistance Management (m/f/d)

The eco.business Fund aims to promote business and consumption practices that contribute to biodiversity conservation, to the sustainable use of natural resources, and to mitigate climate change and adapt to its impacts. The Fund pursues its mission by providing dedicated financing and technical assistance to financial institutions and businesses committed to environmental practices in unique ecological landscapes both in Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa. 
The technical assistance activities are carried out by eco.business Fund SSA Development Facility. These activities revolve around institutional strengthening, sector development and research initiatives targeted at investees (financial institutions and businesses) and stakeholders within the sustainable agriculture and agro-processing; forestry; aquaculture and fisheries; and tourism sectors.
The eco.business Fund SSA Development Facility is in search of an intern to support its work as follows:

Key responsibilities:

  • Support use of proceeds analysis for investments in predominantly Francophone markets. This analysis entails evaluating the extent to which prospective investees’ activities are in line with the Fund’s Green List (a list of sustainable practices that have been approved by the Fund as part of its eligibility criteria).
  • Support the preparation of project proposals for submission to the eco.business Fund Development Facility Committee.
  • Research, analysis, and provision of background information on specific topics within the Fund’s priority sectors, as well as undertaking other projects to advance the eco.business Fund’s mission as directed by your supervisor. 
  • Support in developing and updating reports, presentations, and charts.
  • Day to day administrative tasks including editing and formatting documents, preparing presentations, knowledge management and procurement activities (sharing requests for proposals, overseeing KYC activities and coordinate communications with bidders pre-award), among others.

What we expect:

  • University degree preferably in fields related to agriculture, environmental/conservation studies, sustainable development.
  • Strong interest in agriculture finance, AgTech (traceability systems; soil scanners; GPS; drones etc.), climate finance, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity conservation or climate change adaptation and mitigation.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to take up new learning challenges.
  • Working knowledge of both English and French is essential.
  • Demonstrable commitment to Finance in Motion´s vision/mission.
