Project Finance Analyst / Associate (m/f/d)
(Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency & Resource Efficiency)


The Project Finance Team is currently comprised of five members, who manage the Green for Growth Fund’s (GGF) direct investments into renewable energy, energy efficiency, and resource efficiency projects. To date, the team has committed over EUR 90 million to support the implementation of nearly 700 MW of new green energy projects in its target regions, which include the Western Balkans, Turkey, the Caucasus, Ukraine, Moldova, and six countries in the Middle East and North Africa. The team is seeking an investment professional to help expand and monitor its growing portfolio.

Key responsibilities:
  • Work as a transaction team member assisting in screening, structuring, and executing new investment transactions on behalf of the GGF, primarily deploying senior debt, but also mezzanine and equity products
  • Perform comprehensive research and analysis of sponsor / project background materials, market information, regulatory conditions, and new financing structures in support of the team’s effort to originate new investment opportunities
  • Support the development of investment proposals for internal audiences, as well as for external committees involving key fund investors / stakeholders
  • Lead the development / monitoring of financial models for transactions
  • Support the team in monitoring the existing GGF Project Finance portfolio
  • Support other aspects of the team’s work, including managing external consultants assisting the investment work, fund reporting, and other business requirements or initiatives

What we expect:

  • Master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a related field
  • Sufficient, relevant work experience (may include relevant internships), in project finance or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel knowledge and experience in financial modelling
  • Strong accounting and financial analysis skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written English, including ability to read legal documents and to write concisely without correction. French language capability is an advantage
  • Self-starter and able to work independently
  • Pragmatic and solution-oriented
