Senior Expert Impact & Sustainability (m/f/d)

 Key responsibilities:
  • Build and implement impact investment and ESG frameworks for new fund mandates with a focus on private equity, venture capital, and fund of funds
  • Ensure alignment of frameworks with relevant sustainable finance and impact management initiatives, regulatory frameworks, and market good practices
  • Work with the investment teams to execute the company’s approach to impact and ESG management throughout the investment cycle, including opportunity scans, due diligence, structuring, value-addition plans, and performance monitoring of investee funds and businesses
  • Contribute to fund-raising presentations and investor reporting and disclosure; contribute to exchanges on impact and sustainability matters with internal and external stakeholders; and support impact/ESG capacity building with investee funds and portfolio companies
  • Support strategic discussions and contribute to further shaping Finance in Motion’s impact and sustainability approach, capabilities, and track record

What we expect:

  • University degree in economics, environmental science, development finance, or a related field
  • Professional experience and track record, preferably gained within impact investment, private equity/venture capital, or consulting organizations in Europe and/or emerging markets
  • In-depth knowledge and applied experience in at least one of the following subjects and good overview knowledge in the others:
    • Impact management frameworks including the Operating Principles for Impact Management
    • The EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance and associated technical screening criteria
    • ESG standards, due diligence, and materiality frameworks, ideally including expertise in one or more of the following aspects: supply chains, human rights, biodiversity, circular economy, and diversity, equality, and inclusion
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail combined with the ability to draw actionable conclusions and pragmatic recommendations for decision-makers
  • Open, engaging, and persuasive communication style, strong writing and presentation skills, and problem- solving/negotiating experience
  • Excellent English language skills; knowledge of other languages of Finance in Motion’s countries of operation is considered a plus
  • Demonstrable commitment to Finance in Motion´s vision/mission
