Senior Officer - Corporate Finance - Risk Management (m/f/d)

As part of the Corporate Risk team, the candidate will be responsible for the assessment of counterparty risk exposure of corporate/SME transactions, including: (i) liaising with investment management team to understand the structure of transactions, (ii) agree on transaction terms, and (iii) the proposal of risk-mitigating features for as well as credit terms incorporated into legal documentation.

Key responsibilities:
  • Preparation of written credit proposals combining financial analysis with business model and sectorial information to support credit decisions regarding the client’s risk of default, credit rating and adequacy of the proposed financing
  • Monitoring of credit risk for individual deals as well as the portfolio of corporate clients according to regulatory and internal risk policies
  • Perform due diligence calls/ visits together with the transaction team
  • Monitor and approve internal credit ratings and AML/CFT risk of the portfolio transactions.
  • Interaction with different departments and stakeholders as part of the corporate credit process 
  • Proactively identifying and monitoring exposure concentrations, identifying risk-mitigating actions, and escalating/updating to Risk senior management as appropriate.
  • Proactively participate in /contribute towards credit risk projects/initiatives that help enhance the firm's risk management framework including corporate credit risk tools and guidelines

What we expect:

  • Sufficient amount of relevant work experience, gained in corporate banking in global financial institutions
  • Capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals
  • Extensive experience in counterparty credit analysis in different industries with a particular emphasis on agriculture
  • Expertise in Central and South American markets
  • Strong experience in structuring transactions, analysis of financial statements and models and participation in syndicated deals/facilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness
  • Up-to-date working knowledge and strong understanding of risk management principles
  • Excellent academic background (Finance/ Business Studies / Economics) degree
  • Advanced working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills in English and Spanish
  • Previous work experience in debt origination/structuring is a plus.
  • Multicultural experience is a plus, such as time spent studying or working abroad
  • Previous experience and collaboration with development finance institutions is a plus
