Senior Officer - Credit Risk Management LATAM (m/f/d)

The Credit Risk Management Department is responsible for credit risk management and particularly for underwriting and subsequent monitoring of lending transactions to financial institutions. It is looking for an established professional to take over the senior role in Latin America’s Credit Risk Management function: 

Key responsibilities:
  • Perform the risk analysis (i.e., credit, market, and liquidity) of current and potential investment opportunities across the Latin American and the Caribbean markets
  • Coordinate credit risk underwriting activities, including on-and off-site due diligence for potential investments on the Risk side
  • Ensure the risk review of loan agreements and other legal documentation in line with the company’s risk tolerance
  • Ensure regular monitoring of the outstanding debt investments in financial institutions (banks and non-bank financial institutions), corporates and other investees
  • Maintain the quality of the internal credit rating process and conduct continued rating surveillance of the investment portfolio 
  • Ensure analysis of key market, industry, and economic developments in countries of operation
  • Ensure close cooperation and coordination with Investment Management and other departments within the organization 
  • Prepare and deliver risk-related communications with key stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior staff to develop their knowledge and skillset

What we expect:

  • Sufficient professional experience and track record in assessing risks of financial institutions. Experience in analyzing corporate clients is considered as an additional advantage.
  • Familiarity with the financial sector and banking regulatory framework of Latin American countries
  • The successful candidate could have accumulated experience within either of: 
    • Private sector banks
    • International development banks
    • International and regional financing companies/funds
    • Rating agencies and consulting firms
  • Pro-active, creative, self-motivating attitude
  • Fully bilingual (English and Spanish) and superior written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Portuguese is considered as an additional advantage
  • Ability to interact at different corporate levels and with external parties and stakeholders with confidence and clarity
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, and oversight projects
  • Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Development Finance, or a related field
  • Willing to travel to the countries of firm’s operations (Central America, South America, and the Caribbean) as necessary
  • Demonstrable commitment to Finance in Motion´s vision/mission
