Senior Officer – Green Bond Expert (m/f/d)

Finance in Motion is launching a new Green Bond Fund dedicated to Latin America. The fund will invest in Green Bonds issued both publicly/privately, as well as provide technical assistance to support new issuers in the structuring of first-time Green Bond emissions. For this new mandate we are seeking for a Green Bond Expert, with the following characteristics:

Key responsibilities:

  • As part of the core-mandate team, reporting directly to the Fund Director, contribute to the development of strategies, methodologies, and policies for the new Green Bond Fund for Latin America across departments and business areas.
  • Support the Investment Management team in evaluating new investment opportunities in Green Bonds and similar types of securities.
  • Assess the impact credentials of Green Bonds issued in the region, evaluating the external reviews available (e.g. SPOs) and complementing the analysis through our own due diligence.
  • Lead the design and implementation of technical assistance projects to support new issuers of Green Bonds.
  • Lead the further development of our systems for assessing, measuring, and reporting on the environmental impact of investments.
  • Participate in the presentation of investment opportunities, internal policies, methodologies, and impact results to our management and governance bodies.
  • Lead the analysis of local regulatory frameworks in the countries of Latin America in which the fund is active and assess the implications for our investments in bonds issued locally.
  • Contribute to the promotion of Green Bonds as an instrument to advance green finance among potential issuers, investors, regulators.
  • Represent the Fund and Finance in Motion in industry events, workshops, working groups.

What we expect:

  • University degree in environmental science, economics, finance, business administration, or a related field. A Masters’ degree in a related field is an advantage.
  • Relevant work experience, in particular, experience in green bonds, green finance, or ESG investments.
  • Experience in working with external review providers (SPOs, certifications, verification, rating) is an advantage.
  • Excellent English language skills (working language). Spanish or Portuguese is an advantage.
