Working Student - Compliance (m/f/d)

Compliance unit is a recently established function within Finance in Motion which is responsible for a wide range of regulatory tasks, including but not limited to anti-money laundering / counter terrorism financing, capital markets compliance, conflict of interest matters, fraud prevention, data protection and information security. Acting as a second line of defense in light of a recently acquired Alternative Investment Fund Manager (KVG) license, the Compliance function is also in charge of conducting second-line controls and provide advisory on the implementation of regulatory requirements driven by German Investment Code (KAGB), and related legislative acts (e.g. KaMaRisk, KAIT, KaVerOV, KARBV etc.) by Investment Management, Risk Management, Compliance, IT, Finance, Internal Audit and other relevant functions within Finance in Motion. The Working Student will be responsible in particular, for project management and progress reporting with regards to implementation of KAGB-driven regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the compliance gap analysis and follow up on implementation of the requirements of German Investment Code (KAGB) with relevant business units across Finance in Motion
  • Maintaining the project schedule, providing status updates and progress reports to Compliance Officer
  • Preparing management presentations in relation to KAGB compliance implementation project
  • Providing support to the Compliance Officer on other Compliance matters such as anti-money laundering, sanctions, capital markets compliance and illegal acts

What we expect:

  • You are in the process of obtaining a degree in Law (preferably specialized in banking law / financial services supervision), Political Science, Finance or other relevant field
  • Basic understanding of compliance requirements for a financial institution
  • Ability to effectively communicate with business units in a persuasive and sensitive way
  • Knowledge of methodology of compliance risk assessment, internal control framework and three lines of defense model
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills, presentation experience and ability to work under pressure
  • Familiarity with development finance / impact investment sector is an advantage
  • Fluent in German and English
